- In your instant pot, add about ½ cup water to bottom and the pork shoulder, seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Pressure cook on high for 3 hours, until tender enough to shred. *This can be done ahead of time and stored until ready to cook meal.* Shred pork.
- For the apples and onions, melt butter over med high heat in a skillet. Add in onions and cook until they begin to turn translucent. Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and ½ cup water. Bring to a simmer and simmer until apples are just tender. Stir in vinegar and remove from heat. Serve alongside or over the shredded pork. Optional recommended side dish: mac & cheese.
